Ben Burris is an Orthodontist, educator, futurist, writer, speaker, philanthropist, activist, patient advocate, husband and father. In 2008, Ben created Smile for a Lifetime Foundation to provide Orthodontic Scholarships for those in desperate need of braces who could not otherwise afford them. is now the largest provider of pro bono orthodontic care in North America with almost 150 chapters in the US and Canada. S4L currently gives away over $6,000,000.00 dollars in Orthodontic Scholarships annually and continues to grow thanks to the generosity and dedication of fellow orthodontists.

Ben is well known in the orthodontic industry and has spoken nationally and internationally to orthodontists about the business of orthodontics, access to care issues and orthodontic treatment techniques. Dr. Burris is a Key Opinion Leader for Invisalign and OrthoSynetics, Clinical Director for, owns The Progressive Orthodontist Magazine and Study Group ( and has written a book titled, Ideas for Raising Happy and Independent Kids, based on his experience as a parent and his methods for motivating with tweens and teens in his orthodontic practice.
