If you listen to consultants and gurus they will insist that orthodontists and their staff should never, ever respond to the question “How much do braces cost?” with a number. Some of the more liberal ones will say, “it’s ok to give a range” like $4000 to $6000 but to be vague by saying something like, “it depends on the patient because everyone is different and the doctor has to see you to know what the cost will be”.
I think this is excellent advice!
Nothing makes me happier than when a new patient starts with us and explains how they called a different orthodontist but “they refused to tell me how much braces cost”. And it happens almost every single day I see patients. Thanks!
